Stitch Group Sunday

We met on Sunday for another great get together. Unfortunately, one stitcher wasn’t able to join us.

We had an interesting discussion about American television shows in our youth. The start of the conversation was the Michael Jackson movie at the local Movix theater. That led to the songs of the Jackson 5 and the Osmond Brothers, then American shows that were broadcast in Japan. We were born around the 15 years post WWII, when Japan was transitioning from a war ruined nation to a rising economic power. They were watching Ben Casey, Lassie, Bewitched, and other shows I watched. Japanese people were seeing blond curly hair, beds, and people eating dinner at a high table with chairs, when they had straight black hair, slept on futons on the floor, and ate at low tables. I never thought of any of that before!

They are making wonderful progress on their gorgeous gardens.

Tea time - we had some great treats.

I took some of this home and it was all very good.

As a surprise, I was also sent home with a big tub of hand scooped mint chocolate chip ice cream!

Stitch Group Sunday

Can you believe we have been stitching together for ten years? It’s true! We made cross stitch bookmarks on our first get together. What a long way we’ve come since then!

Everyone continued with the gardens on Sunday.

Stitch Group Sunday

The stitchers are making incredibly creative progress with their gardens. I am so happy to see what they are doing.

Stitch Group Saturday

We met on Saturday to work on our gardens. One stitcher brought this great cabinet for the thread that was gifted. Isn’t this perfect, with all the drawers?

The gardens are so creative! One is a tea garden, another a winter garden, and a third a flower garden with a bunny. (One stitcher couldn’t join us that day). My own garden is being made up as I go along and not so organized, but I am happy with my progress.

Tea time.

I already look forward to our next get together!

Stitch Group Sunday

We met on Sunday and it was a great get together, working on our gardens.

One of our members was given all of this embroidery floss. She shared with the rest of us.

We talked and worked on our gardens. There were so many good ideas.

Tea Time

I look forward to seeing everyone’s garden progress when we meet next time.

Saturday Stitch Group

We just met last week and then met again yesterday to work on our gardens. There is a lot of planning and then many decisions to make. This project is probably the most advanced project since we started stitching together. There is no chart or pattern, we each make our own plan and choose the threads and colors and stitches.

I started a little renshuu (practice) piece earlier in the week and attached the pond (mirror) yesterday. The orange thing is a fish and the green things are lily pads.

Tea Time

We chose a date for our next get together, and we are each on our own until then!
