Sanko Inari Shrine

In December, I visited Inuyama Castle.  At the bottom of the hill going to Inuyama Castle is a big shrine area.  The map says Sanko Inari Shrine, but it seems like there are about three different shrines here.  I think the Inari part is the bright orange tori with foxes part. There is also another older area, then an area with horses. Who knows, maybe this is just one shrine?

There was some kind of ceremony going on with this couple's car.  I don't know what it is about.

Another interesting, but not understood visit.

Looks like lots of unique architectural designs and colors.
Maybe the couple was getting their car blessed?

Yes, Inari shrines are small and feature many red gates (tori) and foxes. They say that once you visit an Inari you have to return, or the foxes will be upset and trick you.
You can read here about why horses often are seen at shrines.

Gorgeous shrine, I love the fox statues!

It looks pretty new so I bet that was a blessing for their car! Maybe to keep them/it from harm or trouble?
