Cherry Blossom Forecast 2019

The first Cherry Blossom Forecast is out!

In my area it looks like they will start blooming around March 25th, with full bloom being about a week later. For Tokyo, the prediction is four days earlier than usual, starting on March 22nd.  This is just the initial forecast and it could change though.

I guess the blossoms depend on the weather and that changes from year to year. Hope you have a lovely blossom season.

Japan is famous for the cherry trees, Pamela. I will be looking for your beautiful photos when they bloom. Hugs, my friend.

Thank you for the info.
Now that you live in a new area you will have to go around and check out where the best cherry viewing/hanami party areas are so you are prepared.

It seems very brave to be forecasting it two months in advance! A lot could change between now and then. Still it is nice to be able to look forward to the spring blossom.

Japan is incredibly urban, but people still seem so connected to the natural cycle of trees and plants! Today is also the “New Year of the Trees” in the Jewish religion, which evolved in Israel where it’s also early spring now.

I wonder how they make these maps...is it just the prediction of the weather, or do they actually look at the trees too?
