Japan's New Passports

Japan's brand new passports are probably among the most beautiful in the world. The Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji were painted between 1830 and 1832 by artist Katsushika Kokusai.  While the series actually consisted of 46 paintings, the best known 24 are featured in the new passports. Summer would normally be the time people would be using their passports, but this year overseas travel is on hold because of the pandemic. I think these pages are gorgeous and would just look at them this summer, if this was my passport.

Does your passport have some interesting pictures or pages?

I think you're right -- they're certainly more beautiful than ours!

Very nice. The NZ passport has pictures through out too, birds, sailing chips, Maori canoe, whales, the islands. Has been that way for a while. Is great to look through like yours.

Those photos are lovely! I don't have a passport so not sure how the US's hold up, art wise. :)

When my kids were in elementary school (my youngest is 35 now:), the art teacher had a year-long program of presenting artists from around the world. I volunteered as a presenter and Hokusai was the artist I chose ... really enjoyed getting to know more about him, his process and his art work.

Love reading your blog.

Thanks for your information.
The government would have flexible thinking.

To be honest, I can't really remember what my passport looks like...but I bet it's not as beautiful as the Japanese one!
