I converted to dollars so I could gauge the punishment. It isn’t a huge amount, but I don’t know his annual income. The crows were just being crows and should not have been poisoned. Dot
I looked up the fine amount, it is $3,413, perhaps a fair amount. Crows have settled in my neighborhood in large numbers recently, they are loud and pushy and have perhaps crowded out smaller birds. But I don't mind them.
Maybe if it is made public enough it will deter others from killing the birds too?
It is a crime in Japan for an individual to kill a crow, no matter how annoying it is.
But I can also understand his feelings. In fact crows raid garbage, dropping their droppings on cars and balconies, and sometimes attacking people.
He should have consulted the administration.
At first I read 'Killer Crow' instead of 'Crow Killer' and was very confused! As things stand, I very much agree with harsh punishment for cruelty against animals.
