Stitch Group Sunday

We met on Sunday and three stitchers had “show and tell” with their finished Hawaiian projects - two cushions and a wall hanging.

This one has a zipper back.

This one has a fold over flap.

The wall hanging has a sleeve on the back.

All three are fabulous. I think we will see the other cushion next time.

We started a new blackwork project - Box of Delights by designer Elizabeth Almond. I had already stitched this design and made it into a pillow, so I am starting a different Elizabeth Almond design.

First, everyone looked at the patterns and chose which designs. My finished pillow is on the end of the table.

Let the stitching begin!

You're lucky -- you have your own art camp regularly! I love your blackwork pillow!

Blackwork is always impressive, and the colourful version you have on your cushion gives a new look to this traditional style.
I have worked one piece of Blackwork (a kit from Hampton Court), and I strained my eyes because the stitches were so tiny and the thread so thin at times I thought it was invisible!
If I were a member of your stitch group, I would opt for a low-count piece of fabric and large stitches!
Your members are remarkable - they never shy away from a challenge.
