Indeed a well-kept temple with manicured trees in an open setting.
I am sure people gather under the canopy of the wisteria tree when it is in bloom, to eat lunch or at least have a cup of tea.
In a traditional home with tatami mats on the floor, the family often eat their meals at a low table near the Buddhist altar where the ancestors mortuary tablets are kept. In that way ALL the family can gather for dinner.
