Sengen Shrine, Shizuoka

My friends invited me to go to Shizuoka with them to visit Sengen Shrine and go out for lunch.  I had been wanting to go to Sengen Shrine for quite a while, and was happy to accept their invitation!   It was a little rainy, but that didn't stop us.  First we stopped at this small stitching shop.  It is small, but packed full of many many things!  It is located very near Shizuoka station so I'm sure I will visit again.

This Torii was located about mid-way between the station and the shrine.  I don't know if it is part of the Sengen Shrine or something else.

We continued on and this is the entrance to the shrine.

We had a volunteer guide who spoke Japanese.  I'm not really sure about the things she said.  My friends said it was about many old stories.  It kind of sounded like myths or legends.

After the shrine visit we had lunch at a soba restaurant - my favorite!

After lunch, we continued with the weaving lesson.  It was a really good day.

It seems like there is a lot of historical places to visit EVERYWHERE in Japan. You must be a person that finds it easy to make new friends and connect with others. Being an introvert, I admire that ability. Thanks for blogging about your day.
xx, Carol
