Okinawa - Busena Marine Park Underwater Observatory

This was the view from the balcony of my third floor hotel room. To the left, this penninsula was my destination Christmas morning.

View to the right

View straight out

This is the map of the penninsula, showing the road/walkway to the underwater observatory. It goes through a resort area.

There are shuttle buses from the ticket booth to the bridge of the underwater observatory running every 20 minutes, but it is just as easy to walk.

It was quite windy that day, but the views were gorgeous on the walk.

Behind the boats is the 170 meter bridge to the observatory.

The wind was whipping up the waves, as well as the fish below the surface.

The observatory is five meters below the surface and is very much like the Fish Eye in Guam.

It was easy to walk around from window to window, seeing different things at each lookout, but it was time to move on to the next adventure.

Pamela: Wow what an amazing group of photos, it looks so comforting at sea, the water is such a beautiful site for me, we have loads of snow and icy cold.
I hope you post more photos.

What a lovely place to stay, and the under water pictures are fascinating! Were there a lot of tourists around over the holidays?

Beautiful scenery along the shore! How interesting to see the fish in their natural habitat. There seem to a lot of them just there.

I once went to an underwater observatory in Kyushu. It was really fascinating to see wild fish in a wild environment.
If it had been an aquarium, you might have seen a diving Santa, as it was Christmas. The Japanese are so fond of dressing up, even diving staff at aquariums will do anything to entertain!

The ocean and beach - SO beautiful.

You are very lucky to enjoy the beautiful and warm environment.
The lowest temperature in my area is always under zero degrees.

It's wonderful to seen such a wonderful view on Christmas morning.
The peninsula you visited on this day is also beautiful.

It's an interesting experience to be able to observe fish naturally.

It looks very tropical, with the lush greenery and the colour of the ocean.
I'd like to visit an underwater observatory like that.
