Please Stand Still

I really like these posters that tell us how to behave in public.

Those are so clever!

The illustrations clearly show why we should not walk, or RUN, on the escalators.

In Japan, there are people who walk and people who stop when they get on the escalator.
Interestingly, the position of the person who stops is divided into left and right depending on the region.

Ever since I was a child, when I take an escalator, I stop on the left side.
Thinking about itagain,why?😲.
I don't remember anyone telling me.

Currently, the correct way to ride is for everyone to stop and ride like a poster.

Having everyone stand still on the escalators is admirable, but I don't think it's going to happen in big busy cities anytime soon!

When I worked in the city part of my daily exercise was climbing all the escalators at the station. It was about 100 steps - and then there were another 30 or so to get out of the station up to ground level. Good exercise!
