Eating in Hamamatsu

On my recent trip to Hamamatsu, I stayed at the Kitanoniwa The Kuretakeso Hotel. In the afternoon, they have a free drink and snacks in their dining room. I had a draft beer with some Japanese snacks.

One of the famous foods in Hamamatsu is unagi, so that is what I ate for dinner at Unagi Yaotoku Honten restaurant near the hotel.

The hotel had a nice breakfast buffet, but I didn't take any photos.

I ate lunch at a small restaurant near Hamamatsu Castle. You choose what you want from the window and the waiter brings soup and rice.  It was very inexpensive. I would definitely eat here again.

I ate well on my trip!

The unagi looks delicious, and the lunch menu prices were very reasonable.

Unagi isn't my favourite, but it still looks delicious!

I have heard that Kuretake Hotel has a good reputation. It is the best choice that you chose Hamamatsu’s specialty eel for dinner. I would make the same choice.
But eel is expensive. It is not something that is easily eaten in Japanese households. However, when it comes to food, which is one of the pleasures of travelling, I tend to loosen my wallet.
