Tuesday, I visited the Shizuoka City Museum of Art to see this Yuzen Dyeing exhibit. It was fantastic! As with most art exhibitions, photos are not allowed, so you need to go if you want to see it. It is a very well done exhibit. There are four sections. The introduction of each section is written in Japanese and English, but other information is only in Japanese. The kimonos and paper prints are gorgeous. There are paper pattern books and other items on display also. There is a silent video that is interesting, showing the process of Yuzen dyeing and finished pieces.

The exhibit runs through December 21st and the museum is conveniently located across from the Shizuoka train station. Adult entry is 1400 yen.
