I also finished the huck weaving square into a zipper pouch (hand stitched).

I made a little pouch out of the little huck weaving square. It’s all sewn by hand.

Work in Progress Wednesday

The Tale of Genji progress

Small leftovers

I have a little pile of small leftover pieces of aida fabric from other projects. I pulled out one and stitched a little Huck Weaving design on it.

Friday Finish - Huckweaving Finishes

I made the huckweaving samples into little zipper pouches. I used 12 mm zippers from Daiso. They were handsewn.

I made this bigger piece into a table cover, blue fabric on top and purple backing.  It measures about 25 inches square.

Work In Progress Wednesday

Japanese Pattern 10

New Start - Huckweaving, using Watercolors thread leftover from other projects.  I think I will add some kind of border and make this into a table center.

Stitch Group Sunday

One stitcher finished several projects and brought them to show.

Mola

Drawn thread and chicken scratch

Candlewicking

We started a new Huck Weaving project.  The small piece we worked on was practice. They will choose their own pattern for the next Huck Weaving piece.

Here are the results of our stitching session. They all caught on and did very well. They will continue working on these and be thinking of their patterns for the next Huck Weaving pieces.

Work In Progress Wednesday

I'm doing some stitching for a birthday gift that I want to keep a secret for now, so I won't show that yet.

Another little Huck Weaving piece.

Kimono Remake - I've started adding kimono fabric to an aikido jacket.  I plan to add pockets and a band at the end of the sleeves.

Work In Progress Wednesday

This week, I altered some clothing for one friend and repaired some pants for another - sewing not stitching, so I won't show it here.

Japanese Pattern 5, done with three strands of DMC 550.

Work In Progress Wednesday

New Start - The Quiltmaker from Lavender & Lace

Spring Bride is getting very close to being finished. I spent a lot of time outlining this week, but there is still more outlining to be done.

New Start - Huckweaving Practice

I've done Huckweaving before, but I kind of forgot how to do it. You can see one kitchen towel I made in 2015 here and another one here. I did this little practice piece on aida 14 fabric (front and back).  I have no idea how to figure out how much thread I need for each pass, without wasting too much.  If anyone knows, please help me.

Two Blue Huck Weaving Towels - Finished!

These two towels have been my most recent “carry along” project.  They’ve been good to carry along and work on while out because it’s a repeat pattern with only two colors of thread.

Now that they are finished, I need to pick out another small project to carry with me.
