Work In Progress Wednesday
I spent a good deal of my stitching time so far this year, working on and finishing, The Tale of Genji. With just a few weeks left until the mid-year, I am now looking at my many unfinished projects. I have so many that I want to work on and finish.
Lavender and Lace - The Quilt Maker, the progress this week was to unstitch over half of the little bit I had done in order to fix a counting mistake. It’s ready for a restart.
Linda Driskell Hardanger - I worked on the motif in the lower right.

Work In Progress Wednesday
I’m still trying to make things out of scraps and leftovers. I stitched the first layer of some beady fobs.
Tale of Genji progress - I’m working on the backstitching/outlining and it’s going slowly.

Work In Progress Wednesday
Zipper Pouch Progress - I haven’t worked on this in a while, but picked it up this week, and was able to do several rows.
Blackwork Heart project - I pulled out leftover strands of thread and started putting in stitches. I’m happy to use up these small bits of thread that I can’t bear to throw away.
Little Fobs or Ornaments to use up this fabric. Check out Suzi’s blog if you are looking for little patterns.

Work In Progress Wednesday - Trip Stiching
Not being able to go a day without stitching, I brought some small simple things on my trip to work on. Hotel lighting is not usually good, and train stitching needs to be small, so these projects fit the bill.
I made a good start on basting the little hexagons.

Stitch Group Sunday and My Birthday
My stitching friends are incredible. They are so good to me.
We met on Sunday to work on our biscornu fobs. They finished the cross stitching at home between last time and this get together. We needed to attach the beads, make the cording (also known as guru guru), and put the two sides together with the cording and stuffing to make the fob.
We look like we only stitch, but we also have a lot to talk about and I learn many things.
Please notice the pins worn by the stitchers on the right. The bell is bargello and the maple leaves, Brazilian embroidery, made at earlier get togethers.
The two center fobs were completely finished at this get together and the other two had just a little more to do.
Next, birthday cake and pizza made in the wood stove.
They treat me like a queen - my favorite carrot cake, homemade pizza, even tabasco! They also sent me home with pizza and cake to eat for days.
They also gave me wonderful gifts in addition to the fabulous party.
I am fortunate to have met up with these stitching friends and thankful that we continue our friendship and stitching over nine years, so far! I appreciate them more than they know.
