I remember high school and college chemistry classes with the giant periodic table on the wall.  Here's the newest version of the table.

Numbers one through 94 exist naturally, with 95 through 118 synthesized in laboratories.  The most recent four - 113, 115, 117, and 118 were confirmed on December 30, 2015.

Number 113 is in all the Japanese news (and probably other news too) right now.  This new element was discovered by a group of Japanese researchers and the proposed name of this new element is Nihonium, after Japan (Nihon) because of the support of the Japanese people. Doesn't that evoke a good feeling?  The Japanese people must feel very proud.
