Golden Week Adventures 2017 - Yui

On Friday (Kodomo no Hi), I met my two friends at the train station and we took the train to the port town of Yui, just two train stops from our town.  Yui is known for Cherry Shrimp (sakura ebi).

The main reason for our trip was to visit the Hiroshige Museum, but there was a lot to see along the way.  A woman invited inside her home to see her Boy's Day display.

This little shop was full of the Hina mobile hangings.

Yui was the 16th station of the Tokaido Route between Kyoto and Tokyo in the Edo Period.

The turtles are enjoying the warmth of the sun.

This is the entrance of the museum and the garden, but photos were not allowed inside.

16th station : Yui (Travellers on a high cliff by the sea)

Outside the main part of the museum was a hands on area where we were able to "catch shrimp".

We had a wonderful lunch of cold soba and sakura ebi, with a beautiful view of the bay.

Let's get together again soon!
