Japanese Toilet Follow-up

There was a lot of interest in my Japanese Toilet post a few days ago. I just have a few things to add.  The buttons with the music notes aren't for music.  That button activates a loud flushing/water sound, so no one else can hear any other sounds coming from your toilet stall. Another curious thing about Japanese public toilet stalls is that they always go down to the floor, so there is no chance a child in the next stall can look under the divider into your stall.  Many foreigners are surprised by Japanese high tech toilets, as this hilarious Mr. Yabatan video shows.  He is VERY surprised!

At Tokyo Disney, in addition to the sound of running water, the motion-activated noisemaker adds tweeting birds to the mix. Very cute, until a bunch of ladies are using the facilities at the same time...then it sounds a little like Alfred Hitchcock!

Being of the elder generation, one thing I hate about public restrooms is the lack of privacy. Now and then you get a little kid trying to look through the crack in the door. How Rude!! But I like privacy at home too. My little dog is always breathing at the bottom of the door letting me know he is waiting for me. THAT makes me smile.

It seems they're trying to provide a private, pleasant experience for one of life's necessities.
Considerate or obsessive?

Hightech toilets are one of the things I'm looking forward to when visiting Japan. I've heard so much about them now!
