The Ghost Bird

One afternoon when I was teaching, my two students and I heard a really big thump on the window.  We ran over and saw this ghostly outline of a bird on the window.

We looked down and saw this stunned bird below the window (my classroom is on the second floor).  We were concerned that it would die because it stayed there a long time.

The last time we looked, the bird was gone, so we hoped it had flown away.  My classes aren't dull.

What a sad story! I hope the bird recovered and flew off, and did not become a ghost!
You have a nice view from your window - no concrete blocks or steel structures, but trees!

Something like that happened here last summer, but it was an owl that hit
the sliding glass door. It was stunned but finally flew off.

That has happened to me a couple of times. Birds can sure take a lot of trauma then get up and fly away. It always surprises and amazes me. So glad YOUR bird survived.

This also happens here from time to time. But so far none of thew birds ever died, after a while they flew away.

Oh, that poor bird! Maybe it's time to put some decorations on those windows?
