The Stitch Group Tries Hardanger

Four of us met Sunday and started a small hardanger project.

I love that everyone really uses the things we make! (Sake cup pin cushions)

This little project uses kloster blocks, woven bars, and a dove's eye.

This is what our projects looked like at the end of our session. Cutting is a little scary, so maybe the scissors weren't as close as they could have been.  We talked about maybe some beads in the corners, or some double running stitches to outline the kloster blocks, a colored fabric behind and a pin backing.

I can hardly wait to see how they are finish finished.

Even the last photo with the goodies, does not overshadow the beauty of
the hardangen embroidery. Superb little project!

Pamela: It looks like you have a lovely craft group.
I love hardanger but am always afraid to do the cutting, I use curved scissors, that way I play it safe and do not cut where I should not.

This is a technique that terrifies me because of the cutting! It looks like your group did a great job and I hope they do some more.
