Beautiful colours of your national bird. That blue is stunning. I wonder if every country of the world has a national bird, must google.
Hi Pamela,
Well I never knew that, it was clearly a pheasant, but such strange colours compared to our own pheasant (UK).
Hope you are keeping safe and well!

I always learn something new from you, Pamela!
Sometimes, when I was walking through the woods on Awaji Island, I would catch a quick glimpse of a pheasant running across the road or in the forest. They did not like me and always ran away, but I always felt it was a good day when I was lucky enough to see one.
Tanya of ByTaniwa often shows photos of the pheasants in her neighbourhood. Actually there are quite a lot of 'kiji' restaurants serving something like yakitori. I think it is a pity hunting and eating such beautiful birds....
That is a beautiful bird and your stitching is beautiful. My Dad was outside when and earthquake came in NZ many years ago, he said all the birds went silent minutes before the quake hit, they knew it was coming.
The green pheasant is beautiful. And so is your blackwork version.
Pheasants are not to clever, they always seem to run in front of vehicles in the countryside here.
I never knew that either! How interesting. Apparently, Germany has a national bird as well - it's the golden eagle.
