Throwback Thursday

2018 was a Monday post and Week 20 of the temperature quilt.

In 2017, I wrote about a day spent in Nagasaki, including the Bekko Craft Museum.

My 2016 post featured a famous Shizuoka Snack.

In 2015, I wrote about a visit to the Sapporo Science Center and Planetarium with my student Miyu.

2014 was a simple post about a small finish for the Smalls Stitch A Long.

In 2013 ,  I was busy with buttons.

And finally in 2012, I was working on Queen Elizabeth's sleeves.

It is sometimes good to look back.  What an interesting time I've had here.

Tsurushi Kazari

There are so many wonderful things in Japan.  I love the history and traditions and festivals.  March 3^rd is Hina Matsuri, a special day for girls in Japan.  My friend and I went to see this display in the Keio Plaza Hotel in Sapporo.  Is this fantastic or what?

Ainu Festival 2016

The Ainu are an indigenous people of Hokkaido, who have a distinct language, religion, and culture. The language has been classified as endangered, with less than 100 people now speaking the Ainu language. Last Saturday we attended the Ainu Festival in Sapporo. We enjoyed a day of Ainu music, dance, traditional clothing.  How fortunate we were to be able to attend!
