Work In Progress Wednesday - Summer One Thread a Week Challenge

Progress is being made and I'm pleased with what I am doing.  Some projects are getting the one thread, others are getting more time. It's good!

The House - This is my own idea of the house I lived in with my parents until I moved away to go to college. I've decided it is finished and will take it off my Summer One Thread a Week Challenge.

SnowDays - progress made where the scissors are pointing.

Scarf - I added colonial knots in the area where the scissors are pointing.

Cross stitch and buttons - I added blue beads to the upper wings.

Virgin Queen's pocket - Betsy Morgan.  I finished the white section with the row where the scissors are pointing.

Dogwood afghan - progress where the scissors are pointing.

Nine Patch Quilt - I've worked on this quite a bit this week.

Quiltworks - Ruth Dilts. I spent a good bit of time and many threads on this one this week.

Paisley Purse - Deborah Forney

Beads around the small paisley.

Gift Ribbons - The stitching on the ribbons is finished.  The fabric on the right, with the hiragana characters will be the lining.

Another good week!

Work In Progress Wednesday - Summer One Thread a Week Challenge

I'm so glad I decided to do this challenge.  I am making a lot of progress.

The House - more green grass.

Snowdays - one thread where the scissors are pointing.

Scarf - two lines of fly stitch in the section where the scissors are pointing.

Cross stitch and buttons - more buttons, filling in the wings.

Virgin Queen's pocket - Betsy Morgan - one white thread where the scissors are pointing.

Dogwood Afghan - progress made where the scissors are pointing.

Mt. Fuji Pouch - Outside and inside.  Soon to be finished.

Nine Patch Quilt - I've worked on this quite a bit.  All of the nine patch blocks have been quilted with an X and around the block.  Around the white border has been quilted all around and I have just started quilting around the blue print.

Quiltworks - I added top stitching to the bottom left blue squares.

Paisley Purse - Deborah Forney

I don't remember when I last worked on this, but this is how it looks at the start of adding it to the summer challenge.

Beginning to add beads - - -

New Start - I tacked the gift ribbons to a piece of muslin fabric, then began adding decorative stitching to the seams.  I want the stitches to show but not compete too much with the ribbons.  I'm using two strands of variegated Waterlilies silk thread (018 Peacock), which changes in color from blue to brown, for the stitching.

That's it for this week.  Progress is being made.

Work In Progress Wednesday - Continuing with Summer One Thread A Week Challenge

I continued stitching one or more lengths of thread on each of these projects this week.

Apple Pin Cushion - The cross stitching is finished, so I will put this away until the next time the stitch group meets.

The House - another green thread in the grass.

Snow Days - Progress where the scissors are pointing.

Scarf - the blanket stitch inside the running stitch.

Blackwork Sampler - The stitching on this piece is finished, so I will put it aside until I decide what to make it into.

Cross Stitch and Buttons

Virgin Queen's Pocket - Betsy Morgan

One thread on the needle page where the scissors are pointing.

Dogwood Afghan - I finished the flower where the scissors are pointing.

Mt. Fuji Pouch  - more quilting

Nine Patch Quilt

So far so good. I will continue with the Summer One Thread Challenge next week.

Work In Progress Wednesday - Continuing with Summer One Thread Challenge

The projects below have all received at least one thread this week.  Some were hard to put down after only one thread.

New Start - Lizzie Kate freebie - chart found here.

The Apple Pin Cushion

The House - continuing with the yard.

Snow Days -This project is on 36 count linen with silk thread.

The Scarf - I did one purplish-blue thread where the scissors are pointing.

Cross Stitch and Buttons

Blackwork Sampler - I started the second line of the border, but unfortunately, I discovered a mistake in the first line. I will have to do some unstitching before I can continue.

The Virgin Queen's Pocket - Betsy Morgan.  I stitched one thread in the white area, where the scissors are pointing.

The Dogwood Afghan - scissors show stitched area.

Mt. Fuji Pouch

Mini Nine Patch Quilt

Quiltwork - Ruth Dilts

I feel good about making progress on these projects.
