Vacation Eating and Sleeping
We stayed at the Estinate Hotel, the same place I stayed last year, and it was just as good this time. I'd stay there again. Most of the staff speak English and the restaurant on the first floor is good. We ate breakfast there every morning and ate dinner there several times. One evening they offered a free awamori (Okinawa liquor) tasting.
We had a picnic lunch in a park with Subway sandwiches on day.
Our favorite restaurant near Shuri-jo overlooks a nice garden. This time a bad bird from the garden stole a piece of Ted's lunch.
One day when we were out and about we ate at a restuarant in a shopping area. We saw quesadillas on the menu and thought Great! (Mexican food is not common in Japan.) Unfortunately, it was not what we thought of as Mexican food, but it was still okay. That little bowl between the soup and the salad had two little chips with syrup on them. Maybe dessert? We weren't sure.
Before leaving Okinawa, I had an A&W root beer float at the airport. In years past, it always came in a frosty mug. I was disappointed to see the plastic cup, but it was still delicious.

OMG you just make me hungry now, with all these yummy plates ! :D
I'm always in awe, seeing how careful they are with the presentation of dishes, just as a painting, which is the first step to appetite... In Belgium, we say "you first eat with the eyes". I'm sure you both did enjoy your stay !
XOXO
