RainForeStation Nature Park

I caught the shuttle bus in Kuranda to the RFS. You can walk around on your own in the nature park or join a tour with one of the staff members.  Since the tour was in English, I joined the tour.

How cute is this little devil?

Ned and Kelly were napping.

It's hard to see this bird in the back corner.

The kangaroos could roam around anywhere.

I thought the reptiles were interesting.

Did you know Koalas sleep 20 hours a day?  It's hard work digesting all that eucalyptus.

How interesting it was to see the Australian animals up close!

Next is the Army Duck tour of the rain forest. Army Duck is the name of the WWII vehicles that can drive on land or in water.  Our driver was very knowledgable about the rain forest and talked to us while driving around about the evolution of the forest, the plants, all kinds of things!

This is another army duck, the same as I was in.

That looks like a great tourist spot. But I always enjoy wildlife parks as a local, too.

This is an amazing trip. How are the bugs there? Did you have to use repellent? I'm wondering if you will visit an Aviary. I have seen pictures of some of the birds that live in Australia and I would love to see them in person.

What a neat park. Being up close and personal with all the natives seems awesome (maybe not the crocs lol). Duck boat tours are currently having a bit of a rough time after there was a bad accident near here.

I visited what seems to be a very similar park when I was in Australia last year and saw a lot of the same animals. So many cute and interesting critters, I even got to hand feed a wallaby!
