Work In Progress Wednesday - More Brazilian Practice

Sunday the stitchers got together to practice our Brazilian some more. First we had some show and tell.

We consulted many online pictures and patterns and are each deciding on and designing our pins, which are about five centimeters across (I think, I'm not so good with metric measurements).

I think the rayon thread is what makes Brazilian difficult.

This is mine.  The partial butterfly on the right was practice. The one in the lower left may be my real one.

Many treats!

Until next time....

I do enjoy seeing your stitching group, and what you are working on. 5cm is close enough to 2 inches. Looks like you had lots of yummy snacks and a nice cool drink for the hot weather.

I think the challenge with Brazilian embroidery is the twist of the thread and the fact that it is very slippery. If you are used to e.g. Perle then chaining to rayon is a big change.
I admire you and your group for taking up one challenge after another. You must have a lot of fun.

Looks like you had a great time in your stitch group again.
Very nice projects and trying new techniques and experimenting with different threads keeps you young!
I think so any way.
