Shizuoka City Sengen Shrine

The weather has been nice this fall. It’s good to get out and not waste the beautiful weather. I took the train to Shizuoka Station, then walked to Sengen Shrine. I had been there before, but not recently.

The sign below seems to be some kind of help wanted sign for the busy New Year season.

It’s a large complex and there is some work being done on some of the structures, but different ones from the last time I was here. It takes a long time and can’t all be done at once.

The colorful sign above is about the 7-5-3 Children’s Day.  I saw several small children in colorful kimono costumes, but thought it would be rude to take pictures, but I wanted to!

This gorgeous building is only open one day a year.  The next time is January 8, 2025.

I’ll end with this photo of Fuji-san, taken from near the Aeon shopping center. A gorgeous finish to a great day out.

I, and I'm sure fellow followers of your blog, are glad that you make use of the good weather! The shrine buildings and the grounds look splendid against the backdrop of the clear blue sky and strong sunshine I especially like the roofs. Even the private home in the last photo of Mt Fuji has the typically double-layer tile roof and ornaments on the ridgeline.

In recent years, Sengen shrine has always undergone renovation work somewhere.
I secretly wanted to work part-time as a shrine maiden. Because
I wanted to wear a shrine maiden costume
