Monday Morning Star Count and Oosouji

I continue working on the hand quilting.

In Japan it is customary to do a big cleaning at the end of the year, known as Oosouji. I’ve been doing my cleaning bit by bit throughout the month of December, but some people wait until the end of the month to do it all. When I’m out walking I see people cleaning their shoes and windows and cars and all kinds of other things.  The trash and recycle pick up places are like mountains. I love starting out the new year with everything clean and organized.

Hello Pamela: I agree with you I do a bit at a time just so I do not poop myself out trying to get all my fall and spring cleaning done.
Totally love your quilt.

It's a delight to see your quilt, I am sure you are happy while you work on it.
As for THE BIG YEAR-END CLEANING, I started early and did bits here and there, like you. I have, however, done the big jobs of cleaning out the washing machine and dishwasher, kitchen fan hood and its filter in the last few days.
Now comes the other big year-end job, cooking, and I am still working in the clinic. I need a holiday!
