Gambatte! You will improve with every session.
It's a complicated piece and I think you did amazingly well for a first "real" try. And of course you'll be able to finish it in your own time and I'll look forward to that. I'm sure no one got done. I'm impressed!
Wood carving looks very different from your usual crafts, but never the less interesting and I am sure you'll get the hang of it soon!
