After visiting the Great Buddha, I walked down the street to Hase-dera. The entrance fee is 400 yen. I visited in 2022, and posted about it here. It’s worth visiting a place more than once because I see different things.
Hasedera temple is certainly worth several visits as there are SO many things to see - there is the main temple hall, the rotating library for sutras, the cave, the pond, the raked garden, the bell tower, the many jizo statuettes, and several of the most famous deities Benten, Fudomyo, Yakushi nyorai... and of course, earlier in the rainy season there are all the hydrangeas. Even the small restaurant is worth a visit.

That place looks like something out of a fairy tale...or a Ghibli movie!
