The People's Choice - Sewing

Every month, on the first Saturday, Jo at Serendipidous Stitching hosts a Stitch A Long, with the topics chosen by her readers. This month's topic is Sewing.

I sew as well as stitch, sometimes both in the same project, so I have tried to post the sewing only projects. The title links will take you to the original post about the finish, with more pictures.

The Button Bag has some cross stitch, but mostly sewing.

The Matching Set (drawstring bag, tissue box cover, and chopstitck carriers) use the same yukata fabric as the button bag above.

Best of 2019 Linky Party

Thank you Cheryl, Meadow Mist Designs, for hosting this Linky Party for the fifth year.  This year has been really good for me, so it was very difficult to choose only five posts! (Click the title and it will take you to the post.)

Update -- I'm not able to link to Cheryl's Best of Post.  It's the third party cookies thing.

Friday Finish - Scrappy Cat Quilt

I am please to show this finished quilt! I've enjoyed the hand quilting and it didn't take me long to do, once I got started. It measures about 60" x 40".  The quilting is around the printed pictures and along the seams around the blocks. The fabrics are all cat prints from fat quarters and small pieces I bought over the years.

Work In Progress Wednesday-Hand Quilting

I am quilting along the seams and around the items in the pictures. I am enjoying this slow process and feel like I can really finish this before long.

Work In Progress Wednesday - Scrappy Cats

This week I started hand quilting my scrappy cats quilt.  I finished the top several years ago and it has been on my "hope to finish" list since then.

Started 2015

My plan is to work on it until it is too hot to hold on my lap.  We'll see how much I get done before then.  It's a fairly small quilt.

Work In Progress Wednesday - Midnight Mystery Quilt Blocks

I followed the next set of instructions and have the individual blocks pieced.  All of my blocks are different. (I should have pressed the seams before taking photos.)  The more I look at these blocks, the more I like them.

Just one more set of instructions!  Maybe by next week, I'll have the completed quilt top.  We'll see.  The directions for this quilt can be found on Cheryl's Meadow Mist Designs blog.

I did finally go back to the Janome Shop and was able to buy a walking foot for my machine.  I still don't have the hang of it yet and need to "unstitch" some puckered areas. I don't consider this to be any progress on this quilt.

These are two of my 17 in 2017 projects.
