People's Choice - Travel

Every month, on the first Saturday, Jo at Serendipidous Stitching hosts a Stitch A Long, with the topics chosen by her readers. This month's topic is Travel.

I have stitched two maps of the US.

I stitched this map of Japan on an afghan and gave it as a gift.

In Fall 2019, I took a stitching cruise on the Mediterranean Sea with Sandy Arthur.  The needlepoint bracelet and ornaments were projects representing places on this trip.

This still unfinished Sardinian Filet piece was a class that a few of us from the cruise took when we were in Sardinia.

Thank you Jo for hosting this link up!

Friday Finish - USA Map

I think it's finished.  There are so many little pictures with backstiching.

This is the second USA map I've stitched.  Here is the first one I did a few years ago.

The new one was very easy - all full cross stitches and easy counting.  The first one I did was larger and much more detailed and difficult, but I think I like it better.

Have you ever stitched a map of your country?

Work In Progress Wednesday

This afghan was my main project this week.

I'm getting closer with this one, but there are still many little details and backstitching left to do.

The metallic thread looks more green than the gold that shows up in this photo.

The Ladies are my lunchtime stitching project. Here's an overall photo and some closer photos.

Work In Progress Wednesday

Here is the eyelet project I started last week. There was no pattern, just random.

This cross stitch USA map is fun and simple.

Work In Progress Wednesday

The stitching is finished, now I need to put this together.  I'm going to use the yellow felt for the backing.

I continue with the USA map.

I did a little more with my Ainu coasters.

And, I have a little something new.

What are you working on this week?

Work In Progress Wednesday - a Snowman and a Map

Is it Wednesday again already?  The days are so much alike when I go nowhere but to work.  This week I put a few more colorful stitches into the Snowman Flapper ornament.

My main project for the week was the USA map. There will be a lot of backstitching later.   If you are not from the US, you might be wondering about all of the letters.  Each of the 50 states has a two letter abbreviation.

I would like to stitch a map of Japan, but I've not seen a chart for it. Does anyone know of a source for one?

Update! Thank you Miranda for the links.  When I looked at the first one, I realized I have that chart - it was a chart I received from Lynley in New Zealand.  I didn't know it was a map of Japan - duh! As soon as I finish this US map, I will begin working on the cute Japan map.  Thank you, Lynley for the chart.  It's about time I get to stitching it.

Work In Progress Wednesday

This week, I continued working on my Ainu coasters.

I had to unstitch a little on the USA map to correct a counting mistake, but now I'm back on track.

I also stitched a little more on the snowman flapper ornament.

The Alphabet Club - E

(For the full story on what this is, check out The Alphabet Club.)

My Japanese “E” word is eigo, which means English (language). Here are a few stitched pieces with English words or alphabet letters I have done.

Check back on the first Saturday of next month for my “F” word.
