Work in Progress Wednesday - Four More Letters Done

This week I finished E, F, K, and L to make 18 finished letters and numbers 12 more to finish.  I have almost seven weeks until the end of the year, so that means I need to complete about two a week to stay on track.  I think I can do that.

Needlequest - Stumpwork 18 November

This month's Needlequest topic is stumpwork.  This project isn’t holding my interest like the blackwork alphabet is, so I haven’t made much progress.  I did finish another petal and start stitching the wire to the organza for the next petal.  There are two flowers, five petals to each flower. I may have to start this first purple petal again.  I didn’t notice as I was stitching, but it looks very uneven when I see it in the photo.

Bridge Park After the First Snow

I posted fall pictures here of the Bridge Park about a month ago.  This is what it looked like yesterday.

Cat Eyes

Last week (before the snow) Ted and I went for a walk.  We saw a boy and a cat ahead of us. We were amazed when we got up close enough to see his eyes.

New Project - A Little Bit Crazy

(It snowed overnight, but I don’t have pictures yet. The first snow is late this year.  Does that mean we won’t have much snow this year? I have new ski boots - I want lots of snow!)

The stitch group that meets in my home is starting a new project.  It has a crazy quilt feeling, but is a little more planned or maybe a little more organized.  Here’s my drawing and basting to get started.

Grocery Store Sushi

Our neighborhood grocery store has prepared foods available to purchase.  I like the sushi they have and I like it even more when it is discounted.  Tuesday afternoon I was in the store at the right time, and bought this.

Work in Progress Wednesday - "2" "T" "P"

I finished two more letters and a number (2, T, and P)  and worked on two others (Y and K), so I’m still on track to finish by the end of the year!

Big Shopping Day in Sapporo

Yesterday Ted and I went to Sapporo and came home with some new things. The first thing was a new (to us) sofa. This two part sofa was given to us (by this I mean it was free) by someone we know in Sapporo. It fit very snugly in the back of our car. I’m still working on the furniture arrangement in our small apartment.

 

Next we purchased new cross country ski boots for me.  I can hardly wait for the snow to fall now!

 

Our third stop in Sapporo was the Big American Store (Costco).  We only bought a few things because our car was so full with the two piece sofa.  We bought two new pillows.

The best Costco purchase was PINE-SOL!  Pine-sol has not been available for some time, so we bought two big jugs, just in case we can’t get it again.  I love a clean fresh smelling house, so I am so happy to have Pine-sol again!

Monday Morning Star Count - Two Little Trios

I’m still working on the hand quilting, but it doesn’t look much different than last week.

I also put together two sets of three hexagons for my other project. It's coming along.

Needlequest - Stumpwork 9 November 2014

This month’s Needlequest topic is stumpwork.  I finished one petal this week – that’s all.  I had three done before and this week I finished the one on the left, with dark yellow, light yellow, and light purple done in long and short stitches.  Slow progress is still progress.

Stitching With Babies

Our little stitch group used to be four, but two of the members had babies this past year, so now there are six who attend. One baby is standing with the help of something to hold on to, and the other is beginning to take a few steps.

 

This week we were all working on different projects.  I worked on my blackwork alphabet, another person worked on her knot garden, someone else is finishing her biscornu and started the beaded ribbon fob, and the fourth person worked on her beaded ribbon fob and scissor case.  The babies played and did the things babies do.
