While Ted's Away, I Stitch All Day
Ted’s
gone on a weekend trip with his canoe class, so I spent most of yesterday with the
Kingfisher. The threads I’ve used so far
are DMC black floss, YLI black silk, and Kreinik #4 in light blue and darker
blue. I have a few chores this morning, but
hope to start working on the cattails a little later today.

Stunning work, but aren't your eyes getting sore? After doing my first and only Blackwork piece I wowed never to go near Blackwork again!
Love the Kingfisher. My mother asked how big the finished piece will be?
Thanks Margaret,
The design area is about 8 inches by 9 inches. It's a little smaller than the peacock or the pheasants, but I'd like to have them framed in the same size frames (some day).
Thanks! So far my eyes are fine, so I guess I need to be working on it while I can. I'm getting older all the time. I enjoy the even exactness of the blackwork stitches.
OMG .....your stitching is amazing !!! Is it Blackwork?
Grit from Germany
Thank you! It is blackwork.
