Halloween Party 2014
Halloween
in Japan isn’t as popular as it is in the US, but it’s getting more
popular every year. Here are some photos of the party
we went to last Friday evening. In case you
are wondering, I was a giant panda, thanks to the panda hat Rhoda made me last
year and a couple of pillows under a white t-shirt.

We had a discussion at home the other day about Halloween in Japan. It is more popular for (young) adults to dress up and party, than for children to go trick o treating. The busy intersection at Shibuya station in central Tokyo turned into a sea of partying zombies, vampires and the like. Halloween parties, costumes, pumpkin decorations and cakes, and taxi rides for those who missed the last train home has been a big boost to the economy.
Oh this looks like fun! Halloween is also not huge here in South Africa. We don't have trick or treating....there are adult dress up parties yes....and some schools hold parties for the kids and some malls have events...but nothing even close to the states!
