JAPAN | LACQUER DOCUMENT BOX
The interlocking design of black crows and white egrets is very unusual, and has no real precedent in Japanese art. However, it does have something in common with the painting of the Rimpa school, and can be placed in the tradition of depicting flocks of birds on Japanese screens, common from the seventeenth century onwards.
The crows' eyes, inlaid with gold lacquer and mother-of pearl, and the conspicuous pinkish bills of the egrets both help us to pick out the birds from the puzzling design.

Thanks for the links. I don't have any, but I know lots of zoos and aquariums here are doing videos.
Hope all is well with you!
What fun! I will check these out.
whenever I'm in Chicago, I have to visit the Thorne. I was crushed when Queen Mary's Doll House was closed when we were in England/Windsor, so thanks for the link on this one!

I have been sending links to my granddaughter in law to share with my 7 year old great grand. He has been enjoying them as he excitedly told me on Face Time.
