Ten years in Japan. Can this be true? Time is such a strange thing. I remember the snowy day I arrived in Hokkaido and how new everything was for me in the days that followed. I feel very fortunate to have come to Japan when I did. The world has gone through so many changes in the last ten years, as have all of our lives.
What has changed for you in the last ten years?

Did you know you would be in Japan for 10 years when you first arrived? Or has it just sort of happened that way?
In my 10 years I've sold my house in the city, moved to the country, and built a new house. So it's been a big change in lifestyle, but probably not as big as moving to a new country with a different language and culture.
Pamela: It seems time does fly, the last six of ten years I have been retired, I am loving it but miss all my co-workers.

After our first 10 years in France I looked around our garden and thought 'wow'! what a difference we had made, it just sort of creeps up on you without you noticing. Now after nearly 27 years we are preparing to move on and it will be all change again. xx
It's been 10 years since you came to Hokkaido on a snow day.
Just by reading your blog,I can see that you had many surprises,discoveries,emotions,and encounters. It's actually many times more that a blog.
I couldn't meet unless you decided to come to Japan and chose to continue living.
I got sick 10 years ago and my life changed a lot. I was sad because I couldn't do everything I liked. There was a lot of support from my husband, but the encounter with you pushed my back.
Now I'm touching the beads I liked little by little. The gap of 10 years is big, but it seems that I can remember how I felt when I was enthusiastic.
So you are indispensable in my last 10 years.
Now I want to cherish the expanding would by reading your blog. Because you and everyone who commentsomes on the blog are wonderful!.
Wow -- congratulations! That's a long time to be in a different culture far from home. I retired eight years ago -- and that's big enough change!

I came 40 years ago and the difference between that day and today is great of course.
In the last 10 years, I spent a lot of time, energy and patience caring for my husband's demented aunt. What I was able to do 10 years ago I can not do today, so I am glad I was 'young enough' to give her the care she needed.
In the last 10 years Japan has also changed a lot. Life without a computer or smartphone is getting more and more difficult, which I don't like. Maybe that is why I love hand stitching so much - it can be done without any cyber power!
Wow, ten years! Can't believe it's been so long. And still you're having new adventures every day!
In the last ten years, I finished my Master's degree, moved out of my grandparents home in in with my (then) boyfriend, got engaged, got married, saw both of my grandpas die...so much that happens in ten years.
