Culture Day 文化の日
Today is the Japanese national holiday, Culture Day, or Bunka no Hi. This holiday has been celebrated every year on November 3rd since 1948 to promote culture, the arts, and academic endeavors. November 3rd was the birthday of the late Emperor Meiji. Various events are held, including art exhibits, parades, and ceremonies. Many museums offer special exhibitions and free admission on Culture Day.
A highlight of this holiday is the Order of Culture Award Ceremony, which celebrates public figures who have made a significant contribution to various disciplines including art, literature, sports, science, and technology. The award recipients are personally greeted and presented with certificates by the Emperor in a formal ceremony at the Imperial Palace. Most recipients are Japanese citizens, but some foreigners have been awarded in the past, for example, the Apollo 11 astronauts.

I like the idea of a national holiday celebrating culture.
Thanks for the good information. I will go to the library as a cultural activity today.
I hope you had a cultural day!
Another great holiday. Do you know who got the reward this year?
