My friends invited me to join them for a Santa basket making craft session. Of course, I said yes!
Before we could get started, we had to have tea and cookies, of course.
This is the kit. It came came from this shop - http://kamileon.jp/
We followed the directions, and it was very fun to do this together.
Our hostess is the very best pizza maker, using ingredients from her garden. She also made homemade bread with marmalade.
I’m sorry I didn’t take a better photo of the birthday cake. It was both beautiful and delicious.
When we finished for the day, this is what my Santa basket looked like.
I worked on it more at home to finish it.
My friends are very good to me. I look forward to our next adventure.

You must have had a wonderful day amidst all that warm friendship. I watched this kind of basket-making on TV once. It looked easy in the beginning (weaving the bottom), then complicated to start the sides with all those pegs needed. After a couple of rounds, it again seemed to be easy-peasy. Will you put Santa on during Christmas only? Anyway, I bet you had a lot of fun.
The basket is charming, as is the cake and the healthy pizza a perfect lunch.
Lucky you!
First of all, happy birthday! That looks like a marvelous way to celebrate -- with friends, a wonderful lunch, and doing something creative. I love the basket. It's super cute. What a terrific afternoon!
Happy birthday, Pamela.
I'm sure you enjoyed your creative activities while enjoying tea, meals, and birthday cake with your friends. The carved Buddha statue next to you also looks happy.
