When I
was out for a walk yesterday, I saw the first squirrel since the fall. Maybe this means spring in Hokkaido. (You can tell this is a Hokkaido squirrel by the hairy ears!)

Crown Prince and Princess Return to Japan
Crown
Prince Naruhito and Princess Masako returned to Japan after a six day trip to
the Netherlands to attend the new Dutch King’s inauguration ceremony in
Amsterdam. The Princess’s parents live
in a hotel in Amsterdam, where her 80 year old father currently serves as a
judge on the International Court of Justice in the Hague. How interesting is
that?
