The Rest of the Weekend

In addition to seeing the Tancho, we saw some deer just outside our car as we drove through the Kushiro Shitsugen National Park. They seemed to be as curious about us as we were about them.

 

We didn’t know before we arrived, but Kushiro was holding its annual winter festival. We saw fireworks and made our way through a difficult ice maze.

 

There was also illumination along the icy waterway.

 

We ate well, as we usually do when on vacation.  We found this crab restaurant on our last trip to Kushiro and couldn’t resist eating here again.

 

All in all, it was a great trip.
