No Walking On The Escalator

On the Tokyo subway, there's no moving on the escalator for safety.

Every city has their own escalator conventions. When I worked in Melbourne people stood still on the left-hand side, and climbed the escalator on the right. People who stood still on the right-hand side would build up frustrated climbers behind them!

In spite of all these posters many people are still too impatient to stand still.

I never understood the point of walking on an escalator. Doesn't seem safe to me. That's a great sign!

Good sign, will people take notice?

I'm not walking on the escalators but I am also for sure not touching the handrail!
