World Embroidery Day is Tomorrow!

World Embroidery Day was created by Kerstin Nettelblad and Skåne Sy-d, members of the Swedish Embroider's Guild.  The first World Embroidery Day was celebrated in Sweden ten years ago, on July 30, 2011.  Now it is celebrated annually on July 30th.

What are you doing to celebrate? Are you stitching something special in honor of the day? I have a few things I'm thinking about working on.

I don't have any embroidery on the go, might celebrate with some hexie hand stitching 😁, happy Embroidery Day.

It is a day to celebrate.
I will stay in my Pandemic Eremit mood and sit quietly at home and stitch , at night. I will add more to the Sunday Stitch School Stitch Sampler

Here are a few links to what others will be doing around the world.

As for Sweden, embroiderers there have been taking ideas and inspiration from The Royal Armoury https://livrustkammaren.se/en/home/ to celebrate the day.

Happy Embroidery Day. Binding a book, it’s sort of stitching.

I didn't really stitch anything special, but after a couple days of crochet, today was my first crossstitch only day of the week, so that's something!
