Ninomaru Art Museum - Kakegawa

Of the four Kakegawa museums I visited during Golden Week, this was my favorite. It is located next to the Stained Glass Museum, but you have to go around the building and up the stairs to get to the Ninomaru Museum entrance.

There were two exhibit rooms.  As this was the first time I visited, I don't know if the exhibits change.

The first room was primarily obi sashes and ornamental jewelry pieces.

The second room had smoking pouches and pipes. You can see on this display how the pouch was worn/carried.

Other than the museum staff, I had the place to myself.  It was filled with such beautiful things.

What an interesting place! I think the embroidered obi is my favourite, that just looks stunning.

Fabulous photos, Pamela. I love those obi sashes -- and the colors on some of the bags. Beautiful work.

The sashes are beautiful Pamela and that pipe pouch with the dragon fly is stunning. What an amazing place.

Such beautiful textiles and jewellery! I would have loved this exhibition, too. The smoking pouches are amazing. I didn't know there was such a thing, but they are like jewellery as well.
