TAST 87 and 88 - Two Versions of the Buttonhole Picot Stitch

Version one uses a bullion to form the picot.

Version two uses a chain to form the picot.

Here they are together, both using #5 perle.  Neither one of mine is very pleasing to look at.  I need to practice more.

You can join in to learn and practice new stitches – check out Take a Stitch Tuesday at Sharon B’s Pintangle blog.

You have worked your stitches in the right way - on a folded edge! The picots show off beautifully!

I am thinking I might join Take a Stitch Tuesday next year. How are you keeping your stitches? One big sampler or just random on pieces of fabric?

Margaret,
I'm doing them all on one piece of fabric, but it's not organized enough to call a sampler. It's nice to be able to refer to the stitches all in one place. When it gets full, I guess I'll start another.

In order to name/remember the stitches you put on a sampler, how do you do that?

I have not done a good job of that, but if you look about 1/2 way down this post - http://queeniepatch.blogspot.com/2014/09/wipw-wasting-wool.html you can see what an excellent system Queenie has.
