Happy Birthday Kane Tanaka!

The oldest person in the world, Kane Tanaka, celebrated her 118th birthday last Saturday.  She was born January 2, 1903, and recognized as the world's oldest living person by Guinness World Records in March 2019 when she was 116 years old. She set an all-time Japanese age record in September last year at 117 years and 261 days.

She lives in a nursing home in Fukuoka and celebrated her birthday with the other residents.  She usually spends her time exercising, doing calculations, and playing Reversi.  She likes eating chocolate and drinking Coke. She claims her secret to longevity is eating delicious food and studying.  She said she is aiming to live to 120!

Well she certainly has an active and interesting daily life. I think that is the secret to staying alive.

If she is physically active and her mind is also active, good on her. I hope she reaches her target of 120.

She sounds like a very nice old lady! I'd love to be like her some day, if not at 118 then at least into my 80s!
