Mishima Taisha Shrine

I have known about this shrine for a long time, but this was my first visit here. It is just a 15 minute walk from the Mishima train station and the weather was beautiful the day I was there. This is the highest ranking shrine in the region and is considered the most important shrine along the old Tokaido Road.

Walking among the century old trees in the shrine grounds is calming and refreshing.

It looks very beautiful, particularly the gardens. A stroll around there would be wonderful.

How lovely and peaceful. Does the amount of tourists/visitors take away from the peace or add to it?

Looks like lots of people had the same idea as you that day. No wonder, it's a lovely place to explore.

It is very splendid shrine with a long history. Mishima has some great place to take a walk, such as the Genbee River that runs through the city and springs. In the summer, some people soak their feet in the river to cool off, so why not bring a towel and ceck it out?
