The first things I think of when I hear "embellishments" are crazy quilt and beads.

 

The People's Choice - Traditional Samplers

 

Every month, on the first Saturday, Jo at Serendipidous Stitching hosts a Stitch A Long, with the topics chosen by her readers. This month's topic is traditional samplers. I have done some samplers, but maybe not so much in the traditional category.  Anyway, here's what I have this month.  

I stitched this reproduction type sampler with silk threads and finished it into a wallet.

I made this little sampler with Danish Flower Thread, but haven't finished it into anything yet.

The Puzzle Purse was a project when I was in the Carolina Sampler Guild.

This Summer Sampler Box and little toolies were designed by Denise Harrington Pratt and a class I took at an EGA seminar.

The pin cushion I use most is a little sampler.

I stitched these twelve sampler pears, which are available as free charts from Samplers and Santas.

The Sneek Sampler is a work in progress.

I like traditional samplers, but counting can be a challenge!

Friday Finish - Small Pincushion

This is another small finish.  I finished the stitching part of it in July and just finished it into a pincushion, measuring about 2.5 x 2.5 inches. The twisted cording and tassels are made from regular DMC floss.

I love a beaded edge and posted a little tutorial on how to do it here.

I like all kinds of little toolie things for stitching and posted a little tutorial on how to make pin keeps here. This technique also works well for ornaments.

 

This isn't my idea, but I like using it to finish an ornament because the front and back are all from one piece.

I made a sampler bag, with a beaded edge and twisted cord edging and explained how to do it here.

I frequently finish ornaments flat and add twisted cord that I make.  I posted how to do it here.
