I last posted about my WIP/UFO's here. This is my latest update. I've taken out the finished projects and added the new ones. Bold titles show the ones I have worked on in 2021. In case you are wondering, I did finish a few things - and they can be seen here.

I think visiting this list from time to time is helpful. It reminds me what I have that is still unfinished (and also how many things are still unfinished).
Hand quilting of the Mystery Quilt continues. I didn't start with a plan for how to quilt this. I began by quilting around the big blocks. After that, I added more where I thought needed more. When I think it is enough, I will stop.
A new project is a beaded nutcracker. I made a set of four the first winter I was in Japan (here). It took a little while to get this started, but once I had four or five rows in, I was fine.
My other project this week was the House Quilt. The next border has hexagon flowers. I have one side complete and attached, one side with the flowers pinned, and the flowers made for the top and bottom. It's coming along. I like how scrappy this quilt top looks.
Lately I've been checking online to see what percentage of people are vaccinated in different parts of the world. It is both interesting and sad. Some countries have an abundance of vaccine, yet people refuse to be vaccinated. Other countries don't have access to vaccines.
This (Finacial Times Covid-19 Vaccine Tracker) is one of the sites I check. Below is the information given and if you click the arrows on the site, you can change the arrangement of the information. I also like that it gives the date of the last update, so you can see how current the information is.
Many of the countries I recognize. Others I remember from my school geography classes, even though I don't really know much about them. But, there are some that I'm sure I've never heard of and have to google them to find out where they are or maybe what their former names were. Like I said, it is both interesting and sad. It's usually interesting to learn new things, but it is very sad to see that some countries have less than 1% of their population vaccinated. We are not safe until everyone is safe.
Check it out and see where your country is or where other countries are with vaccinations. See if there are any countries you don't recognize. Are there any countries you thought you wanted to visit before the pandemic, but their vaccination numbers just aren't there yet?
If you like hexagons as much as I do, take a look at Manuela and Martina's joint project. They take turns designing a section, then both make that section in their own fabrics for their own quilts. They are up to the 6th section. I really like them both!

I haven't eaten out in ages and ages it seems. I used to eat at this sushi place fairly often because I lived nearby, but after I moved and then the pandemic, I hadn't in quite a while. When I was out walking I saw there were few cars parked near it and it was the middle of the afternoon, so I decided to go in. There were some changes since I had last eaten here. The Pepper Robot was gone. The selection was a little different. No alcohol is served (probably because of the state of emergency). I had the counter to myself and enjoyed a safe lunch. I miss these simple things.
Usually, I don't see anyone else when I am visiting the shrines and temples. There were two men doing trimming and yard work when I was here and it was a little surprising not to be alone.
I have no idea what this sign is about.
Here is the sign again.
I've visited many local shrines and temples, but I never tire of it. Each one is different and interesting.
