Work in Progress Wednesday - the Big Garden Progress
I
finished the small garden last week.
Here is my progress on the RSN garden.
It is very large, so to work on it, I balance it between the ironing board and the
folding chair.

My oh my. That is a BIG project for a small Japanese house. Looks beautiful.
Wow! That is a large area to stretch into to reach the garden. It is so beautiful with all the various patterns. Well done! What is next on the agenda? How will you mount it?
Goodness! this is going to be just stunning when finished...you must have lots of patience to work on something like this...do you draw it out or are you following a pattern from sight.
I really love this project. Everytime you post a pic of it I fall even more in love with it ......you are so talented!
so cool!
I'm glad I get to see this in progress. It is beautiful in progress, going to be amazing!
This is going to be amazing! It already is actually...
I'm hoping to do one of these some day. Major problem is that I know NOTHING about garden layout!!
This piece is looking beautiful. Your attention to detail shows.
Elizabeth,
A great resource for this kind of project is the book Embroidered Knot Gardens by Owen Davies, who teaches the class at the Royal School of Needlework.
I drew the first circle for the pond and the circle and square for the original walkway, but have been winging it since then. There's no pattern, I just use the stitches and threads I like.
Wow, this is big! Love the pond and woven picots next to it. It's going to be gorgeous!
