You
probably already know about the President visiting Japan. And, as you can
imagine, everything he does here is in the news.
The President and Prime Minister Abe ate at a famous sushi restaurant in Tokyo
called Sukiyabashi Jiro. The 20 course meal cost 30,000
yen, so I’m pretty sure I won’t be eating there.
The Tokyo Tower was lit up for two nights in red, white, and blue
in honor of the President’s visit.
Security was tightened, with vending machines and coin operated lockers in the train stations closed.
You can find out all the real news about his visit on any news site, but you may not have heard about the sushi dinner, the colorful Tokyo Tower, or the security measures, unless you are in Japan.

They did cover the sushi dinner! There's a documentary about Jiro (Jiro Dreams of Sushi) and they used that as a tie-in. They said dinner costs between $300-400. If I could get a reservation, I'd do it in a heartbeat! (I imagine actually getting to Japan is a lot less likely...so what's another $500? A girl can dream!)
That sushi must have been good, but do you know much better sushi can of course be had in a humble sushi restaurant in a small fishing harbour somewhere along Japan's coast line!
All visitors to Tokyo will now be happy to have somewhere to store their baggage for the day!
Looks like they had a nice time. Love the tower!
